Milestone: 3 Million GPU-Hours Delivered to Research
Monday, August 31, 2026
Marlowe has delivered more than 3 million GPU-hours to Stanford research. The cluster passed the mark on Monday, August 31, 2026, 22 months after users could first run work on the system on October 18, 2024.
The figure counts work that could have produced science: it begins at that first user date rather than at bring-up, and it excludes administrative time charged to the system account.
The instrument behind it is 31 compute nodes and 248 NVIDIA H100 GPUs, serving more than 180 research groups across 7 schools at Stanford. Since January 1, 2026, 91 percent of available GPU-hours have been allocated to jobs, downtime excluded.
