Office Hours: Marlowe Research Data Science Team

An open hour with the Marlowe team, on Zoom. Bring a question about running on the instrument — getting started, a job that will not schedule, scaling a run across nodes, storage, or an allocation. No appointment and no agenda: join for five minutes or stay the hour.

Meeting ID 987 1224 9274

If you would prefer to meet in person, email marlowe-info@stanford.edu in advance and we will reserve a room. Collaborators without a SUNet ID cannot be admitted by the Zoom gate — if you are working on a Marlowe project from outside Stanford, write to the same address and we will arrange another time.

  • Getting started — first login, OnDemand, moving data onto the instrument
  • Slurm and scheduling — a job that will not start, partitions, priority, preemption
  • Scaling a run — multi-node performance, throughput, what to measure
  • Storage — filesystem choice, quotas, staging a dataset
  • Allocations — applying, renewing, or growing a project

Second and fourth Wednesday of every month, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Pacific. The series continues past the dates below; two occurrences are cancelled for holidays.
